The first 24 hours after purchase

The details you received are temporary. The sooner you replace them with your own, the lower the risk of losing the account.

In short. Right after signing in, change the account and email passwords, remove other people's recovery options and add your own, and turn on two-factor protection. Do this within 24 hours of the account handover — it is a condition of the warranty.

Who this is for

For everyone who has received the account details on the order page. Start right after the details are handed over — don't put it off.

Important. The details you get with the purchase are temporary. If you don't change them within a few hours, you may lose access to the account.

What you need

  • The details from the “Account data” and “Email data” blocks on the order page.
  • Your own reliable email, for example Gmail or Outlook.
  • New passwords — unique and strong ones that you don't use anywhere else.

Steps

For some games, the seller sends their own security instructions to the order chat. If there are any, follow them. Below is the general order of actions.

  1. Sign in to the account with the details from the order page. Use the copy buttons to copy the login and password so you don't make a mistake.
  2. Sign in to the linked email with the details from the “Email data” block. The Email field may contain a link to webmail.
  3. Change the account password. After that, the old password stops working.
  4. Change the password of the linked email to a unique and strong one.
  5. Replace the recovery options. Remove the other person's backup email and any other recovery options left by the previous owner. Add your own backup email.
  6. Turn on two-factor protection (2FA) when you have finished the main changes. For Steam, this is Steam Guard.
  7. Sign out of other accounts on your device. For Steam, sign out of other Steam accounts and delete saved login details. Don't use the details of old accounts.
  8. Keep proof of the changes: screenshots of the security settings and the e-mails about the password and email change. The platform may ask for them if you make a warranty claim.
  9. Check that the account matches the description — rank, server and other features from the listing.
  10. Confirm receipt and leave a review — only if everything is fine.

  • [ ] Checked that the account matches the description
  • [ ] Only after that, clicked “Confirm receipt”

What not to do in the first weeks

  • Don't use cheats, macros or third-party software. The warranty doesn't cover a ban for them.
  • Don't top up the balance right after the purchase. If you need to change the region, change it first and then wait at least 4 weeks.
  • Don't link a phone number right away. Changing the region, email and number all at once may trigger a check by the platform.
  • Don't hand the account over to other people and don't share the login details.

Important. Buying an account may go against the platform's rules. The risk of restrictions or a ban cannot be fully ruled out.

What's next

When everything is checked and changed, click “Confirm receipt” on the order page. If something doesn't work, don't confirm — message the seller in the order chat instead.

FAQ

What happens if I don't manage to change the details within 24 hours?

Not following the security instructions within 24 hours is one of the reasons the warranty doesn't cover a problem. On top of that, the risk grows that the previous owner gets access back.

Why shouldn't I link a phone right away?

Changing the region, email and number all at once may trigger a check by the game platform. Change the passwords and email first.

What proof should I keep?

Screenshots of the security settings, the e-mails about the password and email change, and the date of the changes. The platform may ask for them.

The seller sent instructions to the chat. Which should I follow?

Follow the seller's instructions, and use this article as a general checklist.

I can't change the password or sign in to the email. What should I do?

Don't confirm receipt. Message the seller in the order chat. If they don't help, create a ticket.
